Since its start in 1997, U.P. Mountain Biking has been promoting mountain biking across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The race and event line-up keeps growing and the quality of the riding improves each year.
Silent sport recreation is a staple of the tourism industry here. The people who call the U.P. home play hard and their work ethic backs up their lifestyle. Two regions in particular have been investing time and money toward creating a mountain bike trail infrastructure which equals any trail system in the United States.
Marquette, Houghton and Keweenaw counties are the epicenters of mountain biking in the Upper Peninsula. Both regions offer extensive multiple trail systems which offer all levels of riding experiences. Throughout this summer UPMTB will be traveling across the U.P. documenting the events and races while interviewing the local and visiting riders who are out on the trails.
